Valley Metro offers bus service within the City of Roanoke with connecting service from the New River Valley via the Smart Way Bus. Roanoke Valley residents can use the bus to meet with carpoolers at the Goodwill lot that serves as the terminal for route 81 or Spartan Square, the midway point for Salem route 91
The Smart Way Bus connects the Roanoke and New River Valleys. Riders of the Smart Way can transfer to Valley Metro buses in Roanoke for free. US Food employees can use the SmartWay to meet with carpoolers at either the Falling Branch or I-81 Exit 140 Park-and-Ride stops.
